Muslim’s architecture

As I said in my presentation, I openly declare myself a lover of Arab culture.

I am not an expert either, my words should be taken with caution. But I am fascinated by the artistic expression of this culture. With Lorca and his «Diván de Tamarit» I got hooked on Arabic poetry, the «casidas» and «gacelas».

Another thing I really like about this culture is music. As I said before, I play the guitar and for a month I’ve been trying it with the Moorish rhythms, what a fable. Also closely related to flamenco. You will be realizing that for me all these arts have an almost circular relationship.

I was also marked by the field practice of this same subject where I was able to learn about the influence they left in Valencia, the great work they did in agriculture. My family is quite related to agriculture and seeing this great contribution of that culture I liked it very much, I saw them very intelligent when listening to the methods they introduced.

But the important thing here is the architecture, incredible. It is beautiful, the arches of the Cordoba mosque, the Sevillian orange tree patios, the Alhambra’s patio of the lions and I could give a thousand more examples.

I have always commented, and this can be said by my friends, that when I grow up I will have a patio with fountains covered in Moorish ceramics. In the ceramics museum in Valencia, which by the way has a beautiful façade, I fell in love with a period fountain; very well preserved. I see this museum as a must.
